Vernon Hills French Market
This market is European inspired and has approximately 15 specialty vendors that sell food or gifts. You can pick up fresh ingredients to make a delicious meal, or if you’re pressed for time, purchase an already prepared breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The market is open on Saturdays, June through October from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Metra parking lot.
This fun event offers free activities such as kids crafts and pumpkin painting (both available while supplies last) and hayrides. Visitors can also watch a twist and shout balloonist and pet a variety of animals at the petting zoo. For anyone who works up an appetite, the fest sells delicious food, beer, and soft drinks.
This lighting is several months away, so mark your calendar! The entire family can enjoy cider, cookies, and hot chocolate as Mayor Byrne flips the switch to light up the tree. The event will be held at the Vernon Hill Golf Course on November 28 at 4:30 p.m.
White Deer Run Golf Club
This well-maintained course spans 240 acres where golfers will experience rolling terrain and dodge bunkers and beautiful lakes.
Family Aquatic Center
Cool off on a hot summer’s day at the Aquatic Center. There is a lazy river, body and inner tube slides, leisure pools, and much more.
Lake Charles Park
This park is great for the entire family. It has a .5 mile walking path that is perfect for walking your canine companion, a playground, half-court basketball, and a lake where fishing and canoeing are permitted.
Located in the Sullivan Community Center’s parking lot, this skateboard park has a quarter pipe, half-pipe, pole jam, and more to keep skateboarders and in-line skaters busy for hours.
Glacier Ice Arena
At the Glacier Ice Arena, you or your children can play in a hockey league or learn to ice skate. The arena also offers public skating, and twice a year, two ice skating shows are performed for the public. One of them is “An Evening at the Glacier,” where all of the soloists in the program are eligible to compete in the Regional Championships.
